The LIHEAP [Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program] starts November 4 and runs through December 13 !
Did you know?
It is IMPORTANT that you know you DO NOT have to be behind on your bill. All eligible households will receive a fixed benefit amount based upon the level of poverty and the type of fuel used for heating. You should apply even if you are not behind! Receipt of this benefit could make you eligible for other services and does not take away from others who might be in need.
What do I need to do?
Applications are taken according to an alphabetical schedule provided by the Kentucky Department for Community Based Services. Applications are taken Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. You will need to provide proof of Social Security numbers and income for the preceding month for ALL household members along with your current heating bill.
Please contact your local Tri-County Community Action Agency office to find out when you should apply or if you have any questions.
